Nissan's return to the C segment

When the Almera model, a classic C-segment hatchback, disappeared from the offer of Nissan's European dealership a few years ago, it was a real shock for many. An even bigger one came with the successor, which was to become the Qashqai crossover . It succeeded, but apparently Nissan missed the popular part of the market so much that it came out with the Pulsar hatchback this year.

At first glance, he probably doesn't impress in appearance . Not that it is ugly, but it is simply very conservative, it does not overflow with any fashionable details. The higher structure predisposes it to a quieter ride , which is of course not a bad thing at all. Practically the only glimpse of some kind of sporting enthusiasm was the model, equipped with an aerodynamic appearance package. And then of course there is the Nismo version , presented as a concept in Paris. It was unmistakable on the stand of the Japanese automaker in matte gray paint , and despite it, Nissan's sports division turned the conservative hatchback into an aggressive-looking model that looks like it could easily take a class of larger cars with higher performance as an appetizer. Above all, the double exhaust tip located in the center of the bumper is an element to think about.

From Nismo, however, I quickly return to the classic Pulsar, whose greatest advantage is the practically endless space on the back seats . If someone had put me in the back seats without first seeing what kind of car it was, I would have guessed something at the top of the middle class. There is as much room for the knees as there is room for the head. This is where Nissan really deserves credit. It also travels to the luggage compartment , where, however, its width is more significantly limited by the rear wheel arches. After moving to the driver's seat, you will be impressed by the comfortable seats and the very simply shaped center panel, which, however, has a large complaint in the form of black shiny plastic , which is lined with it. Not only does it look cheap, but it is also full of fingerprints after a while, which doesn't look the most attractive. In general, the materials are probably the most visible where Nissan has saved and although their processing is good , a few softened plastics would definitely look better. But back to the positive features, which certainly include excellent ergonomics and the readability of the instrument panel. The multifunctional steering wheel fits relatively well in the hand, but the silver plastic is again from the realm of cheaper materials. The last note goes to the navigation system , which is a bit slower compared to the competition.

Nevertheless, thanks to the basic promotional price of 299,900 crowns , this is an unrivaled offer and at least a noteworthy return of Nissan to the territory of the Golf et al. In addition, if it is possible to complete the production of the Pulsar Nismo , which allegedly wants to attack the record for the fastest lap at the Ring, Nissan managers will sleep a little better.
