Renault Scénic XMOD with off-road genes

The French Renault looked at crossovers and the designer style of the small Clio . After the Captur model, another model is coming to the market, which carries off-road genes and a new design language.

This is the Renault Scénic XMOD , which can simply be described as a plasticized Scénic. Compared to the classic Scénic , which will also undergo a facelift, the XMOD will offer a different grille and, of course, several off-road elements. The most striking are the plastics, stretching around the entire length and width of the car. In addition, the plastic is painted silver on the front and back. In addition to plastics, the XMOD has increased ground clearance, roof rails and a new design of alloy wheels.

But don't let the off-road look fool you, the XMOD is still just a front wheel. However, Renault equipped the model with intelligent traction control called Grip Xtend . This is controlled using a rotary control in the interior and can be set to a total of three positions – Road, Loose Ground and Expert. In Road mode, Grip Xtend works as a classic traction control, in Loose Ground mode the system checks engine torque and optimizes the effect of the brakes so that the car cannot lose grip. Expert mode takes full control over braking, while the driver doses the engine power himself.

Another electronic toy in the interior can be the Renault R-Link system, which will be used for the very first time in the Scénic. As you probably know, this is a multimedia system that is represented in the interior by a touch screen. Among other things, the modernized Scénic and Grand Scénic will also get this system.

The engine range remains unknown for now, but Renault has revealed that at least the new Energy TCe 130 unit will be used for propulsion. The last interesting element in the brand's press release is the fact that the XMOD will offer 33 liters more space in the trunk compared to the standard Scénic. Nevertheless, Renault is keeping the complete technical data until the March premiere in Geneva .
