Renault Espace underwent a facelift

The current and fourth generation of the large MPV Renault Espace has been in production for ten long years. During that time, the technology used and the futuristic design underwent a total of three modernizations. The fourth reported this week.

The facelift is primarily aimed at rejuvenating the front part of the car, which, with its appearance, is better integrated into the current design concept of the brand. We can see the massive logo of the car company, the modified radiator grille with chrome-plated slats and the round fog lights.

The appearance of the interior, difficult for some to digest, remained practically unchanged. New is the leather-trimmed dashboard and Alcantara upholstery for the highest trim levels. GPS navigation, Bluetooth/AUX/USB connection, rear parking camera or an entertainment system for the rear rows of seats headed by a pair of seven-inch LCD displays cannot be missing.

A pair of power units will continue to appear under the hood of this large MPV. The more economical one is represented by the two-liter dCi diesel in 96 kW (130 hp), 110 kW (150 hp) and 129 kW (175 hp) variants. The main advantage of these engines is the low value of combined consumption. In the version with a manual transmission, this is around 5.7 liters per 100 km. The automatic then adds approximately 0.7 liters per 100 km to the consumption.

The gasoline engine is represented by a turbocharged two-liter with a combined consumption of 8.5 l/100 km.
