Renault introduced the Clio GT

Anyone who wants a classic small hatchback or station wagon should head to Renault for the Clio . Those who want a sporty small hatchback will also head to Renault for the Clio RS . But what's a person to do who wants a sporty small hatchback or station wagon and doesn't need 200 horsepower?

Renault gave a solid answer to this question in Geneva. Clio GT or Clio Grandtour GT visually refers to the RS version, but under the hood it is a smaller wilderness. But let's start with the peel.

The design of the classic Clio GT version expanded with new bumpers, seventeen-inch wheels , a modified radiator grille with the GT logo, a rear spoiler and a double exhaust tip. Inside, sports leather seats , the R-Link system, a new background for the alarm clocks and a combination of chrome details and glossy black paint have found their place.

Under the skin is a turbocharged four-cylinder 1.2 TCe tuned to 120 hp (hence the name GT 120) and 190 Nm. The transmission of power to the front wheels is handled by the automatic dual-clutch transmission EDC , which we already know from the Clia RS. In the press release, Renault did not forget to boast about consumption and emissions. The Clio GT thus consumes 5.2 l/100 km and emits 120 g of CO2/km.

The new Clio GT 120 EDC will be produced in Bursa, Turkey . Renault has not yet announced the price.
