The rejuvenated Skoda Superb will be presented in Shanghai

On the eve of the Shanghai Motor Show on April 19, 2013, the Skoda Superb and Superb Combi will be presented in a world premiere after extensive modernization. The Skoda flagship will convince with its fresh, attractive design, new interior and improvements in technology. The new model will be launched on the European market at the end of June 2013.

At first glance, the Skoda Superb impresses with a completely new front and rear in the spirit of the brand's new design language. The front of the car is now significantly more pronounced, with a wider radiator grille and completely newly shaped headlights. Also new is the hood with the automaker's logo, the bumper with fog lights and the front fenders. Bi-xenon headlights with integrated LED daytime running lights appear for the first time in the Superb model range.

The rear of both body variants of the Superb model has been completely redesigned. The graphics of the rear lights have been reinterpreted. The typical shape of the letter C for the brand is even more pronounced here. For the first time in the Superb model line, this graph consists of three strips of diodes. The two triangular segments at the rear are another sign of the new Skoda brand design.

A total of nine variants of three- and four-spoke steering wheels are available for the interior of the flagship. There are also new upholstery fabrics and decors on offer. The highest equipment variant of Laurin & Klement can now be ordered in the interior color combination of brown and beige Ivory.

The Skoda Superb is now more attractive also thanks to innovations in the area of engines. Individual aggregates will be up to 19% more economical than before! Among other things, the Start-Stop technology with brake energy recuperation contributes to this, which will be available in EU countries for all diesel engines of the model, as well as for the basic 1.4 TSI/92 kW gasoline engine. The most economical version with the SuperbGreenLine designation consumes only 4.2 liters of diesel per 100 km, which corresponds to emissions of 109 g CO 2 /km .

The range of models with all-wheel drive was also affected by the changes. The car with the 2.0 TDI/103 kW diesel unit will work with a direct-shift gearbox in the 4×4 version, while the more powerful 125 kW version will be available with a six-speed dual-clutch DSG gearbox.

In EU countries, ESP, ABS and brake assist will be standard for the Superb. The optional Adaptive Frontlight System with bi-xenon headlights ensures the best possible visibility in the dark. The optional Driver Activity Assistant warns of imminent driver fatigue. The optional hill start assistant enables comfortable starting up a slope without using the handbrake. Starting with the Elegance version, the car is equipped as standard with a tire pressure control system. In the event of an accident, the crew will be protected by up to nine airbags and three-point seat belts and height-adjustable headrests.
