Not long ago, the first photos of a disguised Range Rover Sport appeared on the Internet, but it was definitely not a standard version. Its modified front bumper, lower chassis and larger brake discs speak clearly – it was probably testing the upcoming version called Sport R .
In addition to different body accessories, the planned Range Rover Sport R will also feature better technology. A sporty modified chassis or the mentioned larger brake discs will be a matter of course.
The question remains what will appear under the hood. Unofficial sources mainly talk about using the 550 hp (404 kW) 5.0 V8 engine currently used by the Jaguar XFR-S . This motorization could do wonders for a large SUV, and the German competition in the form of the BMW X5M would get a strong opponent.
The Range Rover Sport R is currently only being tested, so there is no clear date when we can expect it in showrooms. It is speculated to go on sale around the 3rd quarter of this year.
