Range Rover – Evoque and Sport will get a sporty RS version!

Land Rover is experiencing unprecedented success with the Range Rover Evoque and expects the same from the larger Range Rover Sport . To support sales and increase exclusivity, the brand plans to launch stronger RS versions of both models.

The small Range Rover Evoque is such a successful model that the brand initially had problems meeting demand. Now things have settled down a bit and Land Rover is thinking about other variants of the small luxury SUV. It's like on a swing with the open version of the model, which according to the latest news will come after all . However, the RS version should become the highlight of the Evoque range.

Under the hood, the Evoque RS will have a 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder engine with an output of around 300 horsepower . The brake system will be strengthened, the wheels will probably get a larger diameter and minor changes will also take place on the chassis. The design will only change subtly in the form of new bumpers.

Modifications to the larger Sport RS model will be similar, i.e. a strengthened brake kit, more pronounced bumpers and modified software for active dampers and anti-roll bars. The 21-inch wheels will remain, but may receive a different design. The automaker will install a 5.0-liter engine. Specifically, it is a turbocharged V8 from the Jaguar XKR-S , XFR-S and XJR . In the Sport RS model, its output will be around 542 hp . With it, the car accelerates from zero to one hundred in an estimated time of around 4.5 seconds .

As the first of the two sports SUVs, the Evoque RS will be presented, possibly as early as the end of this year. The Sport RS will follow next year. The prices and detailed information of neither of the models have yet been published and we will have to wait for them, as well as for the appearance of the cars.
