Ram introduced the F-150 Raptor competitor

Yesterday was somewhat in the spirit of mourning the loss of the naturally aspirated V8 from under the hood of the Ford F-150 Raptor. Just a few hours later, however, our mood was perfectly corrected by the Ram 1500 Rebel , currently the Raptor's only competitor.

Although its engine compartment can also be filled with a six-cylinder , in this case a 3.6-liter Pentastar with a capacity of 309 horsepower and a torque of 364 Nm, the 5.7-liter eight-cylinder HEMI with a capacity of 400 horsepower and a torque of 555 Nm is much more interesting. Both engines transmit their power through an eight-speed automatic to the rear or all wheels . The air-suspended chassis has 2.5 cm more ground clearance ( 26.2 cm overall , which is best in class), Bilstein shock absorbers and a softer rear anti-roll bar.

Probably the most visible change is the absence of the typical cross in the radiator grille, which is replaced this time by a plastic molding and a prominent Ram inscription. Two towing eyes in the very solid-looking front bumper, plastic lining of the fenders and the lower part of the doors, or 33-inch Toyo Open Country A/T tires , shod on 17-inch matte black wheels, prove that the Rebel is not afraid even of difficult terrain. The mark of belonging to the brand is also visible on the rear body, which has a fixed length of 170 cm. The only possible variant is also the Double Cab body type.

Seats upholstered in a combination of fabric and vinyl with a tire pattern evoke the natural environment of a pickup truck in the interior. Other changes such as gray metallic decors or discreet red frames in several places belong to the more discreet ones. The younger generation will certainly appreciate the storage space for a tablet or mobile phone in the central tunnel.
