PSA – Motor of the Year Award for the sixth year in a row!

This prestigious award, given by the magazine "Engine Technology International", was once again won by the 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder gasoline engine in the 1.4-1.8-liter engine category. The unit was developed in collaboration between the PSA Peugeot Citroën and BMW Group .

The price is specifically for the 200 hp version, which is equipped with the Peugeot RCZ , 308 CC and 308 GTi and Citroën DS4 and DS5 models. The engine offers a power of 147 kW and a torque of 275 Nm. CO 2 emissions for the Peugeot RCZ and Citroën DS5 are 115 g/km.

The 1.6 l Turbo petrol engine is the most powerful of the range of 1.4 l and 1.6 l engines with outputs of 95 – 200 hp. This engine category uses the latest technological innovations: direct injection for the turbocharged version, variable valve lift, oil pump with controlled flow and a water pump working only in necessary cases. The result is fuel and emissions savings of approximately 10% compared to the previous generation.

Almost 75% of all Peugeot and Citroën cars are equipped with 1.6 and 1.4 liter petrol engines. The 1.6 L engine is mainly used in the Peugeot 308 , 3008, 5008, 508 and Citroën C3, C3 Picasso, C4 , C4 Picasso and C5, DS3, DS4 and DS5.
