Production of the new Fabia will begin at the end of August

At the main Skoda Auto plant in Mladá Boleslav , production workers' teams will complete preparations for the start of production of the new Skoda Fabia during a two-week plant-wide vacation from August 4 to 15. Production of the new generation of the popular small car will begin at the end of August. Extensive maintenance and modernization activities are also taking place at other Czech plants in Kvasiny and Vrchlábí .

"We use the days when production is not running for further optimization so that we can even better satisfy the high demand for our models," says Michael Oeljeklaus , Skoda Auto board member responsible for production and logistics . "However, above all, we are preparing in Mladá Boleslav for the launch of the new generation of the Fabia car. We are on schedule to launch our latest model on time and in top quality," adds Oeljeklaus.

In order to start production of the new Fabia at the main plant in Mladá Boleslav , extensive modifications and modernizations are carried out during the production break. Among other things, highly modern equipment for adjusting assistance systems is being created in the M1 assembly hall. The conveyor technology on the output part of the assembly line is also being completely renewed. The equipment of the paint shop is being modernized and its capacity is being expanded.

Maintenance and optimization is also carried out on the Skoda Octavia production line in hall M13 . Conveyor technology is also speeding up here and equipment for filling brake systems is being modernized.

At the Kvasiny plant, the center of attention is the completion of the new welding hall during the plant-wide vacation. The production of the DQ 200 gearbox in Vrchlabí will be subjected to the usual maintenance.

The company continuously modernizes and expands important areas of production for new models. After last year's changes in production, resulting from a change in the production program, full production capacity is now available. In June, more Skoda cars were produced in one month than ever before: More than 98,000 Skoda cars rolled off the production lines at the brand's Czech and international plants.
