Porsche will replace the engines of the existing 911 GT3 series cars

Sports car manufacturer Porsche will replace the engines in all 911 GT3s for the 2014 model year .

It was confirmed that the resulting destruction of the engines was the result of a loose connecting rod bolt . The loose connecting rod subsequently destroyed the crankcase, leading to an oil leak and subsequent ignition.

After the two mentioned cases, Porsche immediately decided to prevent the potential risk of 785 customers of this model as much as possible. It informed them about the problem and took the vehicles to the Porsche Center . All 2014 model year Porsche 911 GT3s, including those not yet delivered to customers, will receive an optimized connecting rod bolt solution . Individual Porsche Centers around the world are in direct contact with their customers and agree on a specific solution to the situation.

Porsche claims that no other 911 model or model series is affected by the issue.
