Plans for a Subaru BRZ STI are on hold

Despite rumors that a sharp version of the BRZ STI is already in the works, Australian dealership director Nick Senior has issued a statement that, in his opinion, there are currently no plans to launch such a car. Subaru 's main goal now is to increase global sales. Subaru is an increasingly smaller manufacturer with limited resources in global competition. Because of this, apart from the new WRX STI , no other performance model is currently planned, not even a turbocharged version of the BRZ .

These words are also confirmed by Toyota , which, due to weaker sales of the GT86 and Scion FR-S types, is not planning a more powerful version or the previously announced convertible . The only option for customers there is currently the BRZ tS version (tuned by STI – modified by Subaru Technik International ). this version has improved handling and handling, but is only sold in the US market.
