Peugeot presented the new generation 308 SW

Long before the start of the Geneva Motor Show , Peugeot published its main novelty – a station wagon based on the 308 hatchback with the traditional designation SW. One of the largest luggage compartments in the class is hidden under the extended body.

Compared to the hatchback, the station wagon is a full 327 mm longer, when it offers 4580 mm . By the way, this is 80 mm more than the previous generation station wagon, compared to which the new model is also less than 100 mm shorter (the new model is 1.47 meters long). Underneath this body is a 610-litre luggage compartment , which puts Peugeot at the top of its class alongside the Octavia Combi and behind the new Civic Tourer.

As with the hatchback, the station wagon is based on the EMP2 modular platform , which makes the new model 140 kg lighter than its predecessor. The range of engines is identical to the hatchback, including the extra economical BlueHDi diesel unit with emissions of only 85 g CO2/km.

After the premiere at the Geneva exhibition center, sales of the station wagon, manufactured in Sochaux, France , will start this spring.
