Peugeot 2008 – Juka competitor officially!

At last year's Paris Motor Show, the Peugeot Urban Crossover concept was presented at the home carmaker, which showed the vision of a new small crossover, and it was only a matter of time before the production form appeared. It didn't take long for the French brand to officially reveal photos and information about the new Peugeot 2008 .

The revealed 2008 is not drastically different from the mentioned concept, it just lacks the bright yellow color on the body. Compared to the study, it has grown by 20mm, so we can expect 4160mm in length (25mm longer than the Juke) and 1740mm in width. The small crossover picked up some things from the 208 , such as the front and rear lights or the front grille. The new Peugeot 2008 wants to compete mainly with the Nissan Juke and the Opel/Vauxhall Mokka after entering the market.

The power units will be more or less identical to those of the 208 hatchback, i.e. that even a turbocharged 1.2-liter three-cylinder gasoline engine will appear in the 2008 engine lineup. There will also be 1.4 and 1.6 liter e-HDi diesel units. The most economical engine will have CO 2 emissions of 99 g/km. Perhaps a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder THP with a capacity of 156 horsepower will also be under the hood. The Peugeot 2008 , riding on 17-inch alloy wheels, will be sold exclusively with front-wheel drive (4×4 is also available), but the Grip Control traction system , which we know from the larger 3008 model, will add some off-road capabilities.
