Peugeot 2008 DKR introduced

Peugeot has published some technical details about the new 2008 DKR buggy, which will start at the next edition of the Dakar . It was already known that Carlos Sainz and Cyril Despres would start with this car, later Stéphane Peterhansel was also announced as a team driver. The body of the entire buggy is made of carbon, the lights, on the other hand, should come from the serial version of the 2008 type. Special off-road tires will be supplied by Michelin . It is powered by a three-liter six-cylinder diesel with two turbochargers, which has an output of 340 horsepower and is located behind the crew cabin. The gearbox is a sequential six-speed. Due to the fact that the car is of the buggy category, it only has two-wheel drive, while the previous winning cars Mini ALL4 Racing , Volkswagen Race Touareg and Mitsubishi Pajero all had four-wheel drive. Jean-Louis Schlesser won twice with a two-wheeler at the turn of the millennium with a buggy of his own production.
