Petrolicious – The Mini Cooper has rock star status

There are few cars that define a time and place. Those that have become an integral part of the culture. But the Mini is one of them, it was as important to the 60s as the Beatles or mini skirts. To find out why, we have to watch a video with owner Sumner Norman . He says the Mini was absolutely great for everyday use, whether you were going for a trip, shopping or going to church. It could be driven by an old lady or a young boy. After all, members of the aforementioned Beatles had them too. It was cheap, simple and practical. For many English people, it meant the easiest way to own a car, similar to the VW Beetle in Germany or the Citroën 2CV in France. And thanks to its popularity, many owners have started customizing their Mini to make it stand out from the crowd.

Sumner has a 1971 Morris Mini at home. He couldn't resist either and upgraded it with a 1275cc Cooper engine and disc brakes. However, even he admits that the Mini is not about performance, but mainly about driving and fun. Its excellent driving characteristics simply make you want to jump into the car and go for a drive in every free moment. And other people will notice you, smile and maybe give you a thumbs up. Whether you're a rock star or not, the Mini will make you feel like one.
