The patent office revealed the appearance of the first car from Datsun

When the Nissan-Renault alliance announced the revival of the Datsun brand last year, it caused quite a stir. Especially after Nissan announced that Datsun will use Lady technology , which is also largely owned by the Renault-Nissan alliance.

More than two months after the announcement of this resurrection, patent images purporting to show a cheap Datsun sedan codenamed NKD 2196 have appeared on the Internet out of nowhere. This car is supposed to be specially designed for the Russian market, because, for example, the Indian department of the alliance is developing three of its own models for India and Indonesia.

But what did the patent images actually tell us? The Russian Datsun (if it really is) will most likely be only a slightly modified Lada Granta , which is currently racing to the top of the car sales charts in Russia.

The only major difference from the Granta will be the hexagonal grille , which should become a distinguishing feature of all new Datsuns. Another new sign is the new rendering of the bumper, but mainly thanks to the shape of the trunk lid, you can safely recognize the originator of the design and other things.

The premiere of the Russian form of Datsun could take place at the Moscow Motor Show , which takes place in the second half of this year.
