Paris 2012 – What's New Overview – Part 1

This year's Paris Motor Show takes place from September 29 to October 14, 2012, and a lot of important innovations were presented here. Domestic automakers have prepared the Peugeot 208 GTI, Renault Clio and Citroen DS3 Cabrio. A lot of new cars from the C-segment were also revealed, such as the Seat Leon, Volkswagen Golf, Audi A3 Sportback or Toyota Auris. There will also be concept studies, for example the very imaginative Peugeot Onyx, the BMW Active Tourer or the McLaren P1 – the spiritual successor of the legendary F1. Abarth 695 Fuori Series

A special "five-seater" that was inspired by the racing Fiat Abarth 131 Mirafiori from 1970. In addition to the two-tone paintwork, it also has carbon elements on the exterior. Under the hood is a 1.4-liter T-Jet engine with 180 horsepower. It is even possible that it will be sold on the Czech market.

Alfa Romeo MiTo SBK Limited Edition & Superbike Edition

The Italian brand Alfa Romeo currently has nothing to offer, which is why it presented two more special editions of the MiTo model in Paris. The first of them boasts a 1.4 -liter 170-horsepower engine and the highest possible QV equipment + sports kit, 18″ alloy wheels, and leather upholstery inside. The automaker also revealed a few technical facts – acceleration to 100 km/h in 7 seconds, fuel consumption of 4.8 l/100 km and CO2 emissions of 139 g/km. Only 200 pieces will be produced ( on the attached picture in black ).

The second edition of the MiTo model includes, for example, 16″ alloy wheels, a chrome spoiler and tailpipe, a sporty rear bumper, blacked-out fog lights or a titanium “SBK” logo on the rear. The interior features a radio with CD/MP3 player, manual air conditioning or a leather steering wheel as standard. In the engine compartment, all available engines for this hatchback will appear except for the 1.4-liter units with 70 and 170 horsepower ( pictured in white ).

Aston Martin Vantage V12 Roadster

Three years ago, the Vantage V12 was introduced as a coupe, joining the eight-cylinder models. Under the hood is also a 5.9 -liter twelve-cylinder with a power of 510 horsepower and a torque of 570 Nm. Using a six-speed manual transmission, it accelerates to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds (0.3 seconds slower than the coupe). The maximum speed has not changed, it is still 305 km/h. Like its sibling, it will also offer a Sport mode, which sharpens the engine's response and increases the decibels of the exhaust. The price on the British market started at 150,000 pounds.

BMW 114d, 120d and M135i xDrive

The Munich automaker is reviving its smallest "one-of-a-kind" series. The basic model will be the 114d , which is equipped with a 1.6 -liter turbocharged four-cylinder diesel engine (95 hp, 235 Nm, acceleration to 100 km/h in 12.2 seconds, max. speed 185 km/h, combined consumption 4.2 l/100 km). It will also offer elements of BMW EfficientDynamics , which includes the following – brake energy recovery, Start/Stop system or perhaps electromechanical power steering.

Another novelty is the 120d xDrive , which has a 2.0 -liter turbocharged four-cylinder diesel engine under the hood (181 hp, acceleration to 100 km/h in 7.2 seconds, max. speed 225 km/h, average consumption 4.8 l/100 km). Under normal conditions, the four-wheel drive has 60% of the torque on the rear axle and 40% of the torque. moment on the front, but can immediately adapt to the given situation.

The top of the "one line" will be the new hot-hatchback with the designation M135i xDrive , which will receive a 3.0-liter turbocharged six-cylinder engine (315 hp and 450 Nm) connected to an eight-speed automatic transmission. It reaches 100 km/h in 4.7 seconds, the maximum possible speed is limited to 250 km/h and the average consumption is 7.8 l/100 km.

BMW 335i M Performance

The BMW car company also wants to have sales profits from the newly established M Performance division, and therefore modified the most powerful variant of the 335i from the three series so far, after which the new M3 F80 will naturally become the best. The sedan was shown in Paris in white and black guise and not only that, we also mean 20-inch alloy wheels; a brake system from the M division or a suspension and aero kit from M Performance . In the interior, we will find sports pedals, decorative strips, a leather handle for the handbrake or gear lever.

Cadillac ATS

The European premiere of the new ATS sedan took place at the ongoing Paris Motor Show. Unfortunately, it will only be offered in European markets with a single engine, a 2.0 -liter turbocharged gasoline four-cylinder with a capacity of 270 horsepower, which will be transmitted to the rear wheels by two yet unknown gearboxes. Acceleration to 100 takes place in 5.9 seconds. The biggest competitor for Cadillac is the 240-horsepower BMW 328i . Director of Cadillac Europe stated: “The ATS is a nimble, fast and fun car to drive. It will appeal to customers who can appreciate very good driving characteristics."

Citroen C3 Picasso Facelift

With over 320,000 units sold since the model's launch in 2008, a rejuvenation was needed after four years on the market. The facelift made its premiere in Paris and only includes cosmetic changes. On the car we will find a new front bumper with LED daytime running lights, new sets of 15″ and 16″ alloy wheels or two new colors – white Nacre and blue Encre. In the interior, we discover the eMyWay navigation system with Bluetooth, handsfree and USB. Of course, the modernized C3 Picasso also offers new upholstery.

Ferrari FF

You must have wondered what Maranell's FF was doing in Paris when it premiered a long time ago. Yes, that's true, but at this motor show, the new Ferrari FF with a panoramic roof was shown. The new generation of compact SUV was presented for the first time this year at the Geneva Motor Show and it can be said to be the North American Escape model. Honda Civic 1.6 Diesel

The Japanese brand showed a Civic model with a new diesel engine in Paris. It is a 1.6 -liter turbocharged four-cylinder i-DTEC from the Honda Earth Dreams Technology series. It will offer a power of 118 hp and a torque of 300 Nm. Honda says that combined consumption is just 3.6 l/100 km and CO 2 emissions are 94 g/km (only with 16″ wheels).
