Paris 2012 – Renault Clio IV. generation

It is also very busy at the stand of the French car manufacturer Renault . Here, on the occasion of the Paris exhibition, the fourth generation of the compact Clio model had its world premiere. The hatchback is the base, as in the previous generation, the model will also be available as a station wagon.

Successful shapes are one of the main selling points in this segment. The new generation of the Clio model is the first representative of the carmaker's portfolio to take on a new design identity. Dimensional headlights extended deep into the fenders seamlessly follow the radiator grille in the style of last year 's DeZir concept. The muscular fenders and the rear door handles integrated into the C-pillars have a literally erotic effect. If this isn't one of the sexiest compacts at the Paris show , then I really don't know.

The interior was also very successful. All the important controls are hidden in the bowels of the R-Link information system with a seven-inch touch screen and integrated Tom Tom navigation. I find the instrument panel with two tubes and a digital tachometer attractive. I just can't get used to the yellow field of the rev limiter. I praise the well-shaped dashboard and visually pleasing materials. For the seats, I would imagine better lateral thigh support. However, customers can get enough of it in the sharp version of the RS 200 (the article is being prepared).

With the new generation also comes innovation under the hood. Here, a turbocharged petrol engine with a power of 66 kW and a torque of 135 Nm will be newly available. The engine, for which the manufacturer indicates a combined consumption of 4.3 liters, will also be available in the new generation Dacia Sandero and Logan .

Otherwise no change. Naftomils will be delighted by the four-cylinder 15-litre dCi Energy with 66 kW and 220 Nm, while the relatively new TCE 120 petrol 12-litre with 88 kW will be the power-hungry customers. However, the latter unit will have to wait at least until the first half of next year.
