Paris 2012 – Mercedes-Benz B-Class Electric Drive

Yesterday we talked about an electric hatchback , now we're going a class higher. In short, electric cars are in vogue and it is quite clear who will have one of the main words of the upcoming Paris Motor Show – ecology .

The current generation Mercedes-Benz B-Class has been on our roads for quite some time, and it was clear that sooner or later it too would follow in green footsteps. The Electric Drive concept could go into mass production in 2014, and as you can see, it's indistinguishable from the standard version. However, like most electric cars, it will get tires with low rolling resistance, slightly reduced ground clearance and probably a chassis cover.

The car's power is provided by an electric motor with a power of 100 kW and a torque of 310 Nm. These numbers are therefore comparable to the 200 CDI engine. The electric motor draws energy from lithium-ion batteries, which are located in the floor of the car. The ecological class B can travel approximately 200 kilometers on a single charge, which is more than enough for everyday use. After the battery is completely discharged, it can be charged from the home network or through a 400V fast charger.

The Mercedes-Benz B-Class Electric Drive will be presented in Paris alongside other electric stars. The electric version of the SLS AMG supercar and also the emission-free Smart Brabus will be on display. We will bring more information immediately after they are revealed.
