Paris 2012 – Mazda MX-5 2013

In addition to the premiere of the 6 model at the Paris Motor Show, the Japanese automaker Mazda also presented its rejuvenated MX-5 roadster model.

Although Mazda has recently been involved in the intensive development of sedans and station wagons with the designation 6, the MX-5, among other things, has also not missed out on slight modifications. After all, the MX-5 model has been with us for the same long time without changes, as was the Mazda6 in sedan and station wagon versions until recently.

The MX-5 model received only minor modifications, such as a newly shaped front bumper, 17" alloy wheels and new colors for the interior can be ordered. Furthermore, the modernization affected the brake booster, which should now help the driver more with the sensitivity with which he will step on the brake pedal. An active hood will also be standard, which should largely prevent injuries in the event of a collision with a pedestrian. In terms of the engine, there have been no changes, the 2.0 engine with 160 horsepower will still be available.

For the current generation, however, this rejuvenation was already the last, because in 2014 the new generation Mazda MX-5 will arrive, which should be lighter and should return to the original version that was produced in the mid-90s. In addition, the new generation should receive a turbo engine and significant changes in technology.
