Opel Mokka received a new turbodiesel 1.6 CDTI

The Opel engine range will undergo further significant changes in Paris . In addition to the all-new two-liter CDTI diesel under the hood of the Insignia and Zafira Tourer models, Opel will offer the existing (albeit still only a year old) 1.6 CDTI diesel engine under the hood of the Mokka SUV .

The all-aluminum diesel four-cylinder with variable blade geometry , common-rail injection and ten fuel injections during one cylinder cycle can already be found in the Astra, Meriva or Zafira Tourer models. Also in the compact SUV, it replaces the somewhat outdated 1.7 CDTI diesel from Isuzu. The new engine has 136 hp and 320 Nm , beating the older engine by 6 hp and 20 Nm.

In combination with a six-speed manual , it has improved acceleration to 100 km/h in 9.9 seconds, as well as a top speed that is now 191 km/h. At the same time, consumption fell by 0.5 l/100 km to 4.1 l/100 km and CO2 emissions fell by 11 g/km to 109 g/km. The unit has stop/start in the basic equipment and thanks to it it can meet the strict emission limits of Euro 6 .
