Opel heads to Geneva with the extreme Astra OPC

Do you still remember the Opel Astra OPC X-Treme concept from 2002? Yes, it's the exact concept that had a brutal bodykit, 450 horsepower and upward-opening doors. So the German automaker wants to follow up on it with the Astra OPC Extreme concept , heading to Geneva.

The Astra OPC Extreme will be nothing less than a legalized racing Astra OPC Cup . In addition, thanks to the extensive carbon diet , the OPC Extreme will be several tens of kilograms lighter than the regular OPC, which weighs 1373 kg.

The turbocharged two-liter four-cylinder engine under the hood will also receive a slight boost and should have no problem surpassing the 300 hp mark (the standard OPC has 280 hp).

According to the only photo published so far, the concept, with a real chance for small series production , will receive an aggressive body kit, a large rear wing, new wheels and two exhaust tips. However, we have to wait for the rest of the information until Palexpo in Geneva .
