Opel Adam OPC – sharp mini in the making?

Just a year ago, it seemed unthinkable that Opel could compete with the Fiat 500 or Mini in the category of vehicles that are small, urban and stylish. The opposite turned out to be true and Opel introduced Adam. And as you can see, he wants to follow in the footsteps of the Fiat 500

In addition to the classic hatchback, he is also planning a convertible and the newest, sharpest version, traditionally called OPC at Opel ! Of course, a sports bodykit, properly modified chassis, but most importantly – a very tuned engine under the hood! There is speculation about the use of a turbocharged 16-liter with a power of up to 192 hp and a torque of 230 Nm.

Opel's chief engineer Dieter Metz reflects on this topic: "The Adama chassis can handle the performance of the current Corsa OPC." So this is just a kind of confirmation of the assumption of a possible output of up to 192 horsepower! Metz further confirmed that Adam will also be powered by a pair of 1.0 turbo engines . Weaker will have 100 hp, stronger "more than 100 hp".

The main competitor of the upcoming Adam OPC will undoubtedly be the Abarth 500, Mini Cooper S and Renault Twingo RS . Even "all-knowing" sources do not yet know when and where the model will be presented…
