Skoda Octavia III spotted during testing at the Nürburgring!

The third generation of the Skoda Octavia is almost out the door. This is evidenced by the first spy photos of the test prototype, which were taken at the Nürburgring circuit. According to the latest information, the premiere should take place in November of this year, but it will most likely only be for the "cream of the crop" and it will only be shown to the public at the Geneva or Frankfurt motor shows.

The new Octavia will probably have a sportier and more aggressive style compared to the previous generation, and should also offer a lower ground clearance. The design should be based on the latest models and also the Vision D concept. The new generation should remain in the traditional notchback style, which means that it will also offer a large luggage space. It will measure about 4800 mm in length, which is 250 mm longer than the current generation.

The domestic car manufacturer will be the first car to be built on a completely new MQB modular platform (weight reduction compared to its predecessor), which can also be found in the new Volkswagen Golf , third generation Audi A3 or Seat Leon . In addition to the platform, it will also share the engine with the "seven" Golf . Of course, the sharp Octavia RS is also planned. Under the hood, we will find a 2.0 -liter turbocharged gasoline engine with an output of about 220 horsepower, as well as a TDI diesel unit. Power will be transmitted to the front wheels through a six-speed manual or dual-clutch DSG transmission .

About a year after the premiere of the sedan, the station wagon will also arrive. However, thanks to the launch of the new Rapid model, the third-generation Octavia will move to higher levels with quality, equipment and price, in order to give the Rapid a place on the market.
