In the first clip, the American singer and songwriter Stan Ridgway drives us through the night. He drives through the night city as a taxi driver in a classic Nash Ambassador Custom Convertible from 1948. However, this is not exactly an ordinary taxi, rather Checker Marathon cars drove around the USA. But not much happens in the clip, the taxi driver just keeps driving and smoking a cigarette. In addition, the driving shots are sped-up and jerky due to the atmosphere.

Queens of the Stone Age – Go with the Plow
The clip for the song Go with the Plow by the American rock band Queens of the Stone Age is completely animated for a change, but in a darker style. They are transported by a 1952 Chevrolet Pickup , which carries all the band members. While the drummer demonstrates his art on the dashboard of the car, the guitarists manage to drive and play on a stand on the bed even at a speed of 120 km/h. Well, the clip is animated. The car is hurtling through the night, or rather the early dawn, on a desert road between tall cacti. However, another pair of masked youths decide to crash the band's same type of Chevrolet car with all their might. Maybe it won't be so bad, because thanks to the cut we find out that the wrecker is just an ambiguous expression of something much more pleasant. And if the melody is familiar to you, maybe from the car game Gran Turismo 4 .

Robert Tepper – No easy way out
The name of the American singer Robert Tepper may not mean anything to you. But you probably know the hit No easy way out , namely from the fourth part of the Rocky movie saga. The clip for the song consists mainly of footage straight from the film. For us, the highlight is Rocky's night drive in his Lamborghini Jalpa . In it, Stallone rushes through the night at high speed to forget the death of his friend. Most of the clip is dedicated to him, but there are still some nice shots of the black Italian sports car.

Black Rebel Motorcycle Club – Stop
3000 miles – that's the distance the members of Black Rebel Motorcycle Club have to cover as soon as possible to play in one concert. All you have to do is jump into the black Oldsmobile Cutlass Convertible and race through the night on straight roads. Due to the distance, their journey takes more than just one night, but most of the shots take place in the dark. Since the rock band is not bound by any rules, they run afoul of the police, steal gas at the pump, and run over pedestrians. At times the clip resembles the famous film Vanishing point . See for yourself whether they will make it to the concert.

Depeche Mode – Dream on
Today's final performers, the UK's Depeche Mode , chose a 1973 Lincoln Continental Mark IV for their night ride. Apart from psychedelic shots of the night's darkness interspersed with flashes of light (remember the visualizations in Media Player?), the clip appears to have no plot. In the end, however, singer Andy Fletcher decided to investigate the light phenomenon, and lo and behold, she was a young girl hiding in it. However, we will not know what it is and what will result from the meeting.

It is interesting that I personally like to drive at night, you have peace of mind, there is nowhere to rush, the precincts are empty of people and a random fellow driver can be spotted by his headlights well in advance. Unfortunately, I don't encounter girls hidden in light balls, and fortunately, neither do frantic rock bands hurtling at high speeds. And how are you doing?
