Nissan showed a pair of concepts inspired by the classics in Tokyo

We already know that Nissan is preparing a Toyobaru competitor concept for Tokyo some Friday, but I don't think anyone dared to guess that it would go this far. His small IDx coupe not only has rear-wheel drive, but also a design based on the legendary first Skylines from the late 60s and early 70s!

At the Japanese auto show, the IDx is presented in two versions – the classic Freeflow and the sporty Nismo . I think it is clear to everyone that Nismo in particular has a chance to score points. Whether it's war paint, small mirrors on the hood, front bumper, extended fenders or side exhausts… Nissan just did it .

Both models are 4.1 meters long , 1.3 meters high and only the width differs – the Freeflow is 1.7 meters, the Nismo is 0.1 meters wider. The sportier version also rides on nineteen-inch wheels , i.e. inches larger than what the conventional version offers.

Under the hood of the IDx Freeflow appears a gasoline engine with a volume between 1.2 – 1.5 liters in combination with a CVT automatic. The IDx Nismo drive is much more interesting – the turbocharged petrol 16-cylinder is complemented by a CVT automatic with a six-speed manual shift mode.
