Nissan is returning to the Terrano name

In the nineties and even at the beginning of the new century, Nissan had several strong names in its offer – Almera, Primera, Patrol or Terrano . However, over time these names disappeared to be replaced by models such as the Note, Juke or X-Trail. However, the trend of nostalgia has also affected Nissan. In selected Asian countries, you can already buy the Almera and the Patrol today, and soon the Terrano will join this pair.

The SUV with this name will be intended only for the Indian market . Here, it will create a more luxurious twin to the well-known Renault Duster (known as Dacia in Europe).

At first glance, you can distinguish Nissan from Renault very reliably. At least that's what the first sketch that the Indian branch of the Japanese automaker released to the world suggests. According to her, the Terrano will get a new grille, different lights and a bigger bumper. However, the basic body shape will remain.

Under the hood, there will be a 16-horsepower petrol engine and two versions of a 15-horsepower diesel engine with 85 and 110 horsepower, respectively. Production of the SUV will begin at the end of 2013 and will take place at the joint factory of Nissan and Renault in the Indian city of Oragadam . The Renault Duster and Dacia Duster in the British Isles version also come from here.
