Nissan is preparing several new models

Nissan plans to return to the conventional waters of the C segment , where it now operates only the Qashqai crossover. The classic hatchback will become part of a model strategy that includes four new products over the next twelve months.

The hatchback, which may bear the name Almera , is going to seriously overwhelm the bestseller in the form of the Volkswagen Golf . Nissan wants to cover most of the engine variants that the Golf offers – we will see a super economical and sporty version .

The most economical version of the new hatchback gets a four-cylinder diesel under the hood, which does not emit more than 85 g of CO2 per 100 km. From the opposite end of the spectrum, there will be a model with the Nismo badge , which will want to make the life of the Golf GTI uncomfortable.

Guillaume Cartier , the brand's vice president of sales and marketing, told Auto Express : "When we did the research, we realized that we lost a lot of customers who simply would never buy a crossover. In addition to the Juku and Qashqai, we must also have a classic representative of the B and C segments. Recently, classic hatchbacks of the lower middle class have also increasingly entered the car fleets of companies in Europe."

Even before the hatchback is presented, however, Nissan will reveal another interesting vehicle – the GT-R supercar in Nismo design . This, along with two other concepts with the Nismo logo, will be presented in Tokyo next month and, in addition to higher performance, will offer aerodynamics that were developed in collaboration with Williams . Nissan calculates that the modified model will cover the Nordschleife in less than 7 minutes and 26 seconds, which is the time held by the standard GT-R here.
