Nissan is planning an attack on the Golf! Will Almera return?

In the middle of the first decade of the 21st century, one famous name retired from the automotive industry. Nissan said goodbye to the Almera hatchback and replaced it with the Qashqai crossover . Now, however, Nissan seems to be reviving the idea of a classic C-segment hatchback .

At least that's what Aurocar claims, citing Andy Palmer , the man who heads up the brand's planning. The C-segment hatchback project was reportedly revived 18 months ago, but will take another two years to complete. At least that's what a British magazine claims.

The design of the model will be based both on the new generation Qashaqia (which should be presented perhaps as early as next year) and on the other hand the Invitation concept , which has become a prototype of the new generation MPV Note , which will arrive in Europe next year in March. Palmer goes on to say that the new hatchback will offer "innovation and technology for everyone, and will offer great design with interesting technology."

The use of turbo engines or the latest diesels produced by the subsidiary Renault will be a matter of course. We will also see a self-parking system or cameras that monitor the entire car "all around".

The key question remains only the name of the car. The revival of the Almera name is directly offered, but will Nissan want to name the model in this way?
