New versions of Renault Clio in more detail

In Paris, the new Clio of the fourth generation was presented with great fanfare. A little further from the main exhibition , Renault also exhibited the sporty Clio RS and the practical Clio Estate . And now he has decided to specify at least a little.

Clio Estate

Let's start with the more practical representative of this pair. The Clio Estate shares a platform with the hatchback, but is longer thanks to the rear overhang 4267 mm . This value is mainly reflected in the trunk, which offers a total 443 liters basically (from that 85 liters under the floor) or 1380 liters after folding the rear seats .

Under the hood of the small station wagon will be one of the four engines offered. The gasoline branch is represented by the basic four-cylinder 1.2 with a power of 75 hp and a turbocharged three-cylinder 0.9 TCe with a power of 90 hp with a consumption of 4.5 l/100 km. The diesel branch is represented by a four-cylinder 1.5 dCi with a power of 75 hp or the same engine with a power of 90 hp with a consumption of only 3.2 l/100 km.

A total of four trim levels are available in France: Authentique, Expression, Business and Dynamique . The basic equipment always includes ABS, ESP, front, side and head airbags, a start card instead of a key or preparation for the radio. From the second level of equipment, you can get at least manual air conditioning as standard. Of course, the R-Link multimedia system is also available.

Clio Estate (probably Grandtour in our country) will start its journey in France at a base price of 14,300 euros (approx. 362,000 CZK).

Clio RS 200 EDC

The Clio RS tries to play on a significantly sportier note. This will offer a sportier look, interior and chassis. However, the most important thing is the engine. In this case, it is a turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine 1.6 with an output of 200 hp and a torque of 240 Nm. In cooperation with the EDC dual-clutch automatic , the new "eresko" accelerates to 100 km/h in 6.7 seconds and starts at a maximum of 230 km/h . Combined, it consumes no more than 6.3 l/100 km.

As with the previous generation, there will be a classic "softened" version and a sharper Cup version . For an additional fee of 600 euros (approx. 15,000 CZK), it will offer a sports chassis, 18-inch wheels and red painted brake calipers. The specialty of RS is the RS Monitor 2.0 system, thanks to which you can learn the current telemetry status of your ride.

Another sporty function is the RS Drive Control system, which adjusts the throttle response and shift speed to one of three modes – Normal, Sport and Race. A little outside of the sports functions is the R-Sound Effect acoustic system (connected to the R-Link multimedia system). This allows you to "imitate" the sound of, for example, the Nissan GT-R, the racing Clio, the Clio V6 or the legendary Alpine A110 in the Clio RS.

The Clio RS starts in France at a price of 24,990 euros (approx. 634,000 CZK), for which you get a fully equipped car including automatic air conditioning or the R-Link system. If you would like Sirius yellow , prepare 1,600 euros (approx. 41,000 CZK).
