New Honda CR-V – First photo

The Japanese automaker Honda recently released the first official photo of the new CR-V model. The popular SUV could reach the first customers in Europe in the fall of 2012.

The Honda CR-V concept is not intended for the Frankfurt Motor Show in September, as it might seem at first glance. It will make its debut at the International Auto Show in California, held the same month. If you ask who will be the star of the Frankfurt show, I will answer that the all-new Civic.

The CR-V study not only has a completely new platform, but compared to the previous model, it has undergone more extensive design changes, with the biggest ones visible in the front part of the car. Probably the best thing to do was change the front bumper, which is now better integrated into the front surface than it is with the current model. A more aggressive grille and slimmed-down headlights, which significantly line the sides of the mask, are also a welcome change. According to Honda representatives, the innovative shape of the front part results in reduced air resistance and better aerodynamic properties.

The side line of the body has not changed much compared to the current model, but even here you can feel the more aggressive concept of the whole concept. For the production vehicle, we can hopefully look forward to distinctive side sills and new light alloy wheels, which are shown in the gallery.

Unfortunately, we don't know much about the shape of the back yet. What is certain, however, is that the novelty will retain the vertical group lights. But one thing is certain already. The new Honda CR-V will offer a seven-seat interior, making it a more interesting alternative for larger families with children.

Technical details and the engine range are not yet available, but it is very likely that Honda will deploy a 2.2 i-DTEC turbodiesel with 110 kW of power and 350 Nm of torque in Europe in the first phase.
