News for the Range Rover Evoque

It seems that we will see the nine-speed automatic more and more often. Recently, Mercedes introduced it to the E-class offer , and Range Rover will also come to Frankfurt with it, which will present it in its smallest Evoque model.

The nine-speed box comes from ZF and was presented for the first time already this year in Geneva. Here, the Evoque ZF 9HP was still taken as a test car, but in Frankfurt we will see the serial version, which will also go to dealers at the end of the year. The automaker promises that the new automatic will help reduce fuel consumption by 11.4% and CO2 emissions by 9.5%. The most ecological version should be the 2.2 TD4 with a power of 150 hp, which with the new gearbox consumes 4.9 l/100 km and emits only 129 g of CO2/km. In addition to this unit, the transmission should be available for one gasoline and one diesel engine.

Another new addition to the menu will be the optional Active Driveline all-wheel drive system. This, in good driving conditions, automatically disconnects the rear axle and the Evoque becomes a front-wheel drive. However, this only happens at speeds above 35 km/h. When road conditions deteriorate, Active Driveline can also reassign the rear axle within 300 milliseconds. This system also includes Active Torque Biasing , which uses an electronic differential to distribute power and torque between the individual axles, thereby improving the stability and traction of the car.

The system of torque vectoring by braking will appear as standard in all versions. Its essence is the distribution of engine torque between individual wheels in order to reduce understeer. Another new feature is a lane departure warning system, a wading sensor, traffic sign recognition or automatic parking.
