The Romanian car manufacturer Dacia , a member of the Renault group, released information about the development of a new small model at the end of last week, which should start at a price slightly exceeding 5,000 euros. The car could thus become one of the most affordable compacts in Europe.
Dacia Citadine , as the new model could be called, will probably be a five-door hatchback the size of the new Renault Twingo . However, a brand new platform will be developed for Dacia, which will be used for a number of upcoming models.
The engine lineup remains a mystery, but rumors point to a 0.9-liter three-cylinder. The engine could thus provide the Dacia Citadine with power ranging from 44 to 70 kW.
