Car fans should rejoice as there are currently two major motoring TV shows in the world and more are on the way. Of course, we are referring to the popular Top Gear and then also the show of the popular trio called The Grand Tour.
But according to the latest news, the TV show Fifth Gear will also return in the fall. True, it does not have as many fans as Top Gear, but it is also a quality spectacle. The presenter trio will continue to be headed by Tiff Needell.
It was he who confirmed on his Twitter account that the filming of the new series is currently underway and the broadcast will begin in September of this year. In recent years, when there has been a hiatus, old episodes have been broadcast on ITV4 as well as on the BBC Discovery and History channels. As for the new episodes, they will be broadcast on QuestTV screens.
There is no word yet on the new series or whether Jonny Smith and Vicki Butler-Henderson will be joining Needell. Anyway, on Twitter, Tiff is leading the debate along with Smith and Jason Platt. He could allegedly become part of the team, as Tiff posted that they were burning tires together.
If you really don't know anything about Fifth Gear, the premiere took place in 2002 and the show was hosted by two presenters – Tiff Needell and Vicki Butler-Henderson. They tested the cars in a relaxed and informative way. Unfortunately, in 2009 the show was temporarily discontinued on Channel 5, but returned to some UK stations a year later.
