A week ago, Kia came out with the first information about what we will see at its stand at the Frankfurt Motor Show . The main attraction will certainly be the final form of the European version of the Kia Soul crossover . And it was Kia who talked about her before the final unveiling.

Compared to the previous design, the new Soul has a sportier impression. The inspiration from the Track'ster concept is especially visible. Kia offers a wide range of customization options – 11 body colors and 3 roof colors will be available. There will also be various body stickers.
For the first time in history, the Soul will be offered in two versions – just like the new Skoda Yeti, it is a version intended for the city and for the terrain ( SUV Styling Pack ). Although terrain is a relative term for Seoul. The off-road version differs from the urban version primarily by means of plastic fender and bumper protection and a black painted roof with roof rails. We will only find out in Frankfurt if both versions will have a different ground clearance.
Under the hood, at least from the beginning of sales, only a pair of engines will appear – one petrol and one diesel. The 1.6 GDI petrol unit has a power of 140 hp and is available with a six-speed manual or an automatic with the same number of steps. The diesel 1.6 CRDI has a power of 128 hp and will only be available with a six-speed manual.
Compared to its predecessor, the new Soul has grown in length by 20 mm (4140 mm) and is 15 mm wider (1800 mm). The height remained at the same level as the predecessor (1610 mm), the wheelbase was stretched by 20 mm (2570 mm). The trunk can hold 354 liters in the basic configuration , and the fifth door is also 60 mm wider than before. Kia also promises 29% more body rigidity, combined with better handling, lower fuel consumption and about 3dB lower cabin noise.
The equipment of the new Soul will be expanded with elements not yet presented in this car. These are front and rear lights with LED diodes , xenon headlights, automatic air conditioning, cruise control, leather upholstery, a panoramic roof or top-quality audio from Infinity. The Soul will also get several safety assistants – Kia is introducing a parking assistant or a lane departure warning system.
