UAZ Patriot is certainly not one of the most modern parts of the Russian car park , but it is still very popular in its homeland. However, the last quarter of this year could mean a turnaround, as the off-roader, codenamed 3163, will arrive in an extensively modernized design .
It can be said that the body kept only the typical box-like shape. The new headlights received LEDs for daytime running lights , the front and rear bumpers (also with a new design, by the way) are mounted directly on the body, and the radiator grille received a touch of a smile thanks to modified slats. At the rear, the Russian automaker focused on the spare wheel cover and also the shape of the headlights. The wheels can now have a size of up to 18 inches , and the side treads have also been significantly modified.
Even more significant innovations can be seen in the interior. The least visible is the transition to windows glued to the body , on the contrary, the most visible is the new multimedia system. It has a seven-inch touch screen and, in addition to navigation in Full HD resolution, it can also project the image from the rear parking camera. Along with it, in the list of extras, we also find an engine preheating system, individual control and heating/ventilation/air conditioning vents for the rear seats or on-board computer. The driver's seat has also undergone changes, which is now slightly more comfortable and more cut out in the back, creating more space in the back seats .
Technical innovations include a rear stabilizer bar , which will help the car better deal with side rolls. Under the hood, we find a gasoline or diesel engine , the latter receiving Bosch injection and meeting the Euro 4 emission standard. And Bosch once again, this time in the role of supplier of the ninth generation ABS system. In addition, UAZ is preparing the Patriot for the installation of cruise control, a stabilization system or airbags. The price starts at 649,000 rubles (approx. 357,000 crowns) for the gasoline engine, respectively at 720,000 rubles (approx. 396,000 crowns) for the diesel engine. The sister UAZ Pickup also underwent the same changes as the Patriot, but the automaker has not yet published its photos.
