Recently, Mitsubishi has been playing with the names of its cars like a cat and a mouse. A new small car called the Mirgae was shown in Paris. Everything was different in Geneva and the same car was renamed Space Star due to problems with the registration office. Now the novelty is shown in America and again as Mirage. And who should orientate in it…
However, the truth remains that despite the different name, both cars are very similar . You will find practically no change in the design, except of course the elements that have to be modified due to American legislation. The same situation is repeated in the interior.
However, as I already mentioned, minor changes did take place, which was mainly reflected in the dimensions of the car. The US spec Mirage is 3779mm long, 1666mm wide and 1501mm tall. Compared to the European model, this means an increase of 69 mm, 1 mm and 11 mm, respectively.
A single unit will appear under the hood, namely a 1.2 MIVEC three-cylinder gasoline engine with a capacity of 75 hp. Mitsubishi says it is the most fuel-efficient small five-door non-hybrid petrol car on the market. This statement is supported by data on combined consumption – 5.8 l/100 km. You can choose between a five-speed manual or a CVT automatic transmission.
Every new Mirage in America will be equipped with seven airbags , stability control, automatic climate control, power windows, mirrors and a CD/MP3 radio. The price of the novelty will be announced later.
