Miniature BMW Z4 facelift

The second-generation BMW Z4 finds itself about halfway through its life cycle. This usually means time to upgrade the car in question. Sometimes the facelift is more extensive, sometimes not, but what BMW showed off can hardly even be called a facelift…

Design changes can only be recognized by an expert . De facto, only the front lights were changed, and only very gently, the design of the 17- and 18-inch alloy wheels and the air intakes on the fenders, which were given a new shape. Otherwise, the Z4 remains the same as before the upgrade.

More interesting than comprehensive changes is the introduction of the new Hyper Orange design package . It brings three new metallic colors – Mineral Grey, Glacier Silver and Valencia Orange . In addition to them, leather and Alcantara upholstery in combination with orange stitching, small details and door panels, as well as metal decor on the instrument panel got into the interior.

However, the biggest and most important change of this modernization is hidden under the long front hood. That is where the new basic four-cylinder 2.0 ( sDrive18i version) moved in, which is helped to achieve 156 horsepower by turbocharging. The maximum torque lies at the limit of 240 Nm and the maximum speed at the value of 221 km/h. The standard is a 6-speed manual , but for an additional fee, the two-liter can also work with an 8-speed automatic .

The rest of the engine range remains unchanged. The premiere will take place at the January auto show in Detroit , and the modernized Z4 will go on sale right after. The price has not yet been published.
