At the end of April this year, the British-Chinese carmaker MG revealed the first details of its small model 3 . After about a month and a half, the car appeared for the first time on the European continent , which it will want to recharge.
The design of the model does not differ in any way in the European and Chinese versions. The dominant element thus remains the front mask and LEDs for daytime running lights . In the rear part, distinctively shaped lights and a diffuser attract attention. The interior is very simple at first glance. Unfortunately, we do not know how the quality will be. However, the design certainly does not offend.
However, the main weapon against the European person will not be the interior or the appearance of the car, as possible individualization . Right from the start of sales, MG intends to offer up to 10 body colors , the same number of variations of decals on the hood, side and roof, or several alloy wheel designs. The interior will not be spared either, which will receive several replaceable plastics not only on the center console. And a European person can hear this kind of playing with a car.
But if it overcomes a significant handicap in the form of a single engine, that's in the stars. Especially when that unit is not even a diesel engine, but a four- cylinder 1.5 VTi-TECH gasoline engine with a capacity of 105 hp, which works with a five-speed manual.
Although we don't know the price yet, MG has already boasted the basic equipment. This should include air conditioning, a radio with six speakers and USB and Aux connections, a Bluetooth system, rear parking sensors or automatic wipers.
