MG presented the new GS crossover

The GS model will be the very first crossover in the history of the British (and now actually Chinese) car manufacturer MG. Although it doesn't look like it according to the first photos, it will outgrow even the Nissan Qashqai and be placed alongside the Mazda CX-5 or Toyota RAV4.

Similar to all new MGs, the GS will focus mainly on a pleasing design , in the first photos it has torn orange paint and large wheels in an interesting design. As is customary with cars of Chinese production, the edges and various folds were not spared, but the whole looks surprisingly compact in the photos. Probably few would guess its 4500 mm in length , 1855 mm in width, 1675 mm in height and 2650 mm between the axles.

Under the hood, only a two-liter turbocharged gasoline engine with a power of 220 hp and a torque of 349 Nm will initially appear. The unit works with all-wheel drive and a six-speed dual-clutch automatic, which is enough to sprint to 100 km/h in about 8 seconds. Later, a turbocharged 15-liter gasoline engine with a power of 167 hp and a torque of 250 Nm, cooperating with a six-speed manual or automatic, will get under the hood.

Sales on the Chinese market will begin in May 2015 , Europe will not see it until 2016 thanks to Great Britain. In addition to gasoline engines, diesel is also expected for the old continent.
