Mercedes presented new versions of the Citan

The Mercedes-Benz Citan , a sibling of the Renault Kangoo, has been on the market for a year. During that time, it managed to stand out negatively in crash tests and at the same time become the most affordable Mercedes van. The three-pointed star now comes with a pair of new engines and an extra spacious version to go with it.

The Citan Crewbus , as the new variant is officially called, is based on the longest version with a length of 4075 mm , which allowed two separate seats to be installed in the rear (so far, the longest model was not intended exclusively for transporting people). Both seats can be moved, folded or even completely removed in a few moves, creating a large space for luggage.

A pair of units from Renault moved into the engine compartment. The weaker of the two new units is the diesel version 111 CDI , offering under the hood a 1.5 dCi with a power of 110 hp and a torque of 240 Nm. The model equipped with a six-speed manual transmission accelerates to 100 km/h in 12.3 seconds, accelerates to 170 km/h and consumes 4.4 l/100 km. Czech prices start at CZK 464,035 including VAT for a box van with a short wheelbase.

The second new unit is the petrol version 112 , which is equipped with a turbocharged 1.2 with 114 horsepower. With this unit and six-speed manual, the Citan accelerates to 100 km/h in 11.7 seconds, reaches a maximum speed of 173 km/h and consumes 6.1 l/100 km. Czech prices for the Citan 112 start at 429,550 CZK including VAT for a box van with a short wheelbase.
