Mercedes introduces the Citan for the new model year

The Mercedes-Benz Citan in various specifications was the first joint product of Daimler and the Renault-Nissan alliance in 2012. In order for even the smallest utility three-pointed star to keep up with the times, the current facelift brings the Euro 6 emission standard .

The strictest European limits will be met by the standard personal version from June this year, and then also the commercial version on request. In this category, the need to comply with Euro 6 will only apply for more than a year. In order for the power units to be able to comply with the legislation, Mercedes redesigned their design and installed an NO x catalyst . In practice, this means that the driver does not have to deal with the AdBlue liquid, which many models transitioning from Euro 5 to Euro 6 need. The BlueEFFICIENCY package with the eco stop/start system, which reduces the consumption of diesel units to 4.3 l/100 km, is standard on emission-cleaner models. The news under the hood also brings with it more pleasant worries – all diesel engines that comply with Euro 6 have a 20 Nm higher torque .

The additional equipment now includes a practical navigation system with a 3.5-inch screen and maps of Western Europe. The compact device also includes a digital radio, a USB port, an SD card slot and an AUX or Bluetooth interface. A reversing camera will also be available for an extra charge, the image of which is projected onto the interior rearview mirror with automatic dimming in case of strong sunlight. All versions of the Citan can now have an alarm that is activated by a button on the key, and a two-seat with individual headrests and three-point seat belts for the front passenger. The middle backrest can be folded down into a table position when not in use, and there is also storage space under the seat. Only for the personal version of the Long is the optional sunroof, divided into two individually hinged parts at the front and firmly attached above the second row of seats. A change in Mercedes nomenclature renamed the Citan Crewbus the Citan Tourer , which is closer to the newer Vito.
