Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG E-Cell will go into production!

Just as Audi has its R8 e-Tron electric car, Mercedes-Benz has an eco-friendly version of the SLS AMG supercar . It's called the E-Cell and current reports suggest it will go into mass production!

De Telegraaf magazine published the news on its website, and it follows that the ecological coupe could go on sale this fall. However, the main obstacle is not the price, as it might seem at first glance. The manufacturer is very concerned about consumer interest. Will the coupe or roadster be a bigger hit? That's in the stars so far. The solution might be to accept binding orders for this or that body variant and deliver the car directly to measure. However, the price and waiting times would increase accordingly.
For the sake of completeness, we will provide some basic information about the Mercedes SLS AMG E-Cell . Drive is provided by four electric motors, similar to the Audi R8 e-Tron . The combined output of 392 kW is definitely not behind the petrol variant. The torque of 880 Nm is available practically immediately thanks to the minimal losses of the electric motors, especially during the acceleration from 0-100 km/h in exactly 4 seconds.
