Mercedes-Benz GLK will get a new body

The Mercedes-Benz GLK compact luxury crossover debuted at the 2008 Beijing Auto Show and underwent a facelift last year. The updated crossover was unveiled last year at the New York Auto Show. But now the news has emerged that the new generation will also come with a new body variant – a coupe with the name GLC .

The automaker is already working on the second generation, and it is expected that the luxury GLC model will appear in the German brand's offer during 2016. Apparently, we will not see the angular appearance and design typical of the GLK model on the next generation. The new generation of the crossover will have more stylish and sleeker lines, which will better "create" a coupe-body.

The new generation Mercedes GLK will most likely be the first model to be built on the all-new rear-wheel drive MRA platform. Under the hood will be 2.0 and 2.2 liter diesel and petrol engines. The top version of the GLC AMG could have a 4.0 -liter twin-turbocharged eight-cylinder with an output of 462 horsepower.

The car will be offered with front-wheel drive as standard, and four-wheel drive will be available for an additional fee. For that, 4MATIC all-wheel drive will be standard on higher trim levels. The price could start at 34,426 Euros (converted to about 882,000 crowns).
