The Mercedes-Benz G-Class has undergone a facelift

The German premium car manufacturer Mercedes-Benz recently presented a facelift of its legendary off-road G-Klasse , produced since 1979. And what is this year's modernization?

Especially in the slightly modified exterior, where strips of LED diodes for daytime running lights have been added under the front headlights. The exterior mirrors and radiator grille are also new. The changes in the interior are noticeably richer. At first glance, we see a redesigned dashboard with a completely new central tunnel and steering wheel. There is a large color display located between the two tubes of the tachometer and the speedometer. There is also a large display of the online COMAND system with satellite navigation located on the upper part of the central tunnel.

Now to the most interesting part – to the power units. The basis will be the diesel six-cylinder G 350 BlueTec with a displacement of 3.0 liters and an output of 155 kW at a basic price of 85,311 euros. We will continue through the G 500 with a 5.5-liter forked eight-cylinder engine with an output of 285 kW, up to the top AMG versions. The weaker version of the G63 AMG will be powered by a twin-turbocharged eight-cylinder with a displacement of 5.5 liters with a maximum output of 400 kW (544 hp) and 760 Nm of torque. Part of this drive unit is the ECO start/stop system, which will try to reduce consumption at least a little. However, this will be completely unnecessary for the supremely highest and most powerful variant of the G65 AMG with a six-liter twelve-cylinder engine also supercharged by a pair of turbochargers, which will offer its master a portion of 450 kW (612 hp) and a thousand Nm of torque. All this for a price of "only" 264,180 euros, that is, in conversion, some 6.55 million crowns.
