Several important premieres took place during the last few days at the ongoing Detroit Auto Show. Apart from the mainstream brands, however, we also received big surprises in the segment of premium cars, as the official premiere of the Mercedes-Benz CLA compact sedan speaks volumes about .
The implementation of the shape of the main line of the body of the CLS model has succeeded perfectly in the case of a smaller compact. The profile of the sedan looks really famous, if only its interestingly sloping rear didn't remind me so much of the Opel Insignia . Here, too, we will encounter a certain stumbling block in the future. Although the CLA is larger in size than the standard C-class, that roof line will guarantee the compatibility of the rear seats only with a smaller part of the population. However, you will understandably experience the greatest terno when you look at the predatory front and rear groups. In the first case, there is no denying the inspiration from the A class , the rear seems to have fallen from the eye of the extravagant CLS class. Mercedes collects plus points for tasteful footwear. Even in the cheapest variant, you won't get smaller than 17" alloy wheels. In the case of the AMG Sport package, look forward to " eighteens " with double spokes.
The design of the 4630 long, 1438 high and 2032 mm wide body is not an end in itself. The mess of all kinds of waves and folds is due to the air resistance coefficient of 0.23. Three petrol and two diesel engines appear under the hood. The basic CLA 180 four-cylinder petrol engine has a volume of 1.6 liters and an output of 122 hp. The middle road leads through the CLA 200 unit with 180 horsepower, the top for now is the CLA 250 version with a two-liter with 211 horsepower. I would be quite interested in the dynamic driving parameters , but we will talk about those some time later.
Diesel engines will be available in the CLA 200 CDI and CLA 220 CDI versions. In the first case, we will see a pleasant output of 136 hp and a torque of 300 Nm. A more powerful version of the 2.2-liter four-cylinder produces 170 horsepower and 350 Nm of torque. However, whether you choose petrol or diesel, you will have the choice between front- or all-wheel drive 4Matic . A six-speed manual transmission is a matter of course in the base, a seven-speed automatic dual-clutch gearbox is available for an additional fee.
The new Mercedes-Benz CLA really offers a lot to future customers. The excellent character of the car cannot be denied even in the basic version, for which a price of 28,977 euros was set in Germany. The sale will start already in April!
