Mazda CX-3 – Juke competitor on the way!

The Japanese automaker Mazda is apparently preparing another model for its crossover lineup. After the introduction of the CX-5 model and the modernization of the CX-9 , an urban small SUV is also being considered, which will be based on the new generation Mazda 2 . It is not yet officially confirmed, but the next representative of crossovers will bear the name CX-3 .

The aforementioned CX-3 will probably arrive in 2014, joining the new-generation Mazda 3 , MX-5 and Mazda 1 – a fresh competitor for the Volkswagen Up! . Upon launch, the CX-3 will become a competitor to the Nissan Juke or Ford Ecosport , and of course the crossover wants to be the most efficient and best in terms of driving characteristics in the segment. It's no secret that the new CX-3 will also feature SKYACTIV technologies and offer a low weight and a great chassis.

Under the hood, a new 1.6 -liter diesel engine with really low emissions will appear, as well as a 1.3 -liter turbocharged gasoline four-cylinder. Only the front wheels will probably be driven, but all wheels are also possible, it depends on the decision of the automaker itself. Like the CX-5 , the CX-3 gets the right feeling from the MX-5 roadster. This means that both the steering and transmission will be set to feedback.

British source AutoExpress created a great illustration of the CX-3 , which shows that the mask and plastics will be used from the CX-5 , and the sharp headlights come from the Mazda 6 . The engineers of the Japanese brand are also working on a smart improver – folding the rear seats by pressing a button . The premiere is to take place at the beginning of 2014 , and the price in England should start at 13,000 pounds (approx. 406,000 crowns).
