Maruti has shown the new sedan Ciaz

At the end of April, the concept Suzuki Alivio was presented in Beijing, which quite clearly showed the outlines of the future sedan of the lower middle class . Indians will be the first to get the serial variant called Ciaz , who will receive it under the banner of the domesticated car manufacturer Maruti Suzuki .

In terms of appearance, the novelty will do without surprises. The distinctive front mask is chrome-plated , the same material also appears on the door handles, the bar under the side windows or the bar on the trunk lid. Projector lights, fog lights and stylish 16-inch wheels will not be missing in the basic equipment. Excluding 10 mm, the Ciaz is 4.5 meters long, 1730 mm wide and 1485 mm tall. This makes it one of the biggest cars in the segment .

Among the axles, the Ciaz is even the leader of the segment with 2650 mm, which can also be said about the 510- liter luggage compartment with an electric lid. The interior design itself (in higher trims) looks very luxurious thanks to two-tone plastics, leather upholstery and imitation wood paneling. The standard multimedia system with navigation, parking camera and touch screen certainly has its share in this (again in higher equipment). Other features include automatic air conditioning with vents for rear passengers, radio with six speakers and USB/AUX/Bluetooth connectivity, parking sensors or keyless start.

Under the hood, we find a 1.4-liter gasoline four-cylinder in combination with a five-speed manual or a four-speed automatic with a power of 92 hp and a torque of 130 Nm, which consumes 4.8 l/100 km at a weight of 1010 kg. A more economical option is the 1.3-liter MultiJet diesel from Fiat in combination with a five-speed manual with an output of 90 hp and a torque of 200 Nm, which consumes 3.8 l/100 km at a weight of 1105 kg.
