Lotus – The future of the brand secured

British Lotus was one of the many brands that faced existential problems in recent years. However, now the owner of the car company, HRB-Hicom , has announced further investments in the running of the brand and a new plan for its future.

Still under the leadership of Dany Bahar , a plan was presented that called for the launch of five new models within five years . These were supposed to be Elise , Elite , Elan , Esprite and Eterne cars . But then came the scandal with the dismissal of Bahar, and the company HRB-Hicom took over the management of the company.

HRB-Hicom has already invested over 100 million pounds to keep Lotus alive, and subsequent developments have convinced the company that it makes sense to invest further in the car company. From the beginning of 2013 to May, 70 Lotus cars were sold, which is a big improvement compared to 80 units for the whole of 2012. So the management announced that it had drawn up a new three-year plan , which, however, has practically nothing to do with Bahar's.

The main focus of the car manufacturer will be on existing models, where quality , capabilities, technology will be improved, and last but not least, their price will also change. New versions of these models will be presented, with the first swallow being the Exige S Roadster (photo below the article).

The goal of the plans is to increase the production of the Lotus car company to 40 cars per month , of which 85% will be intended for export. And finally, one more speculation – Bahar's brand revitalization plan was canceled very soon, but Lotus already managed to launch the Esprite model project. It is therefore possible that we will see this model after all, since returning to the development that has already started would be significantly cheaper than starting over. We can only hope.
